write your name and address really BIG. Just kidding. Put a few references from your teachers and parents to fill the gap, as well as your interests and activities related to the job you are applying for.

Just give them school experience and any extra curricula activities … I’ll never understand why these jerks want a resume from kids.

Write about things you’ve accomplished so far in high school. Be sure to include any after school activities, special skills, awards (Honor Roll, Perfect Attendance, etc.), any volunteering, or odd jobs such as babysitting.

if you have no job exp. list your skills/quals for the job and school after that. and anything that would make you look good like awards you earned in school etc.

Its likely that you are aiming too high. Start out at a restaurant/retail/fast food joint as awful as any of those might sound they are not THAT bad. This way you will have something to put on your resume and in the future once you have more job experience you can put that experience to work at a higher paying job. Good luck!

At 17 no one expects you to have a full resume.

Ask yourself:
Have you volunteered anywhere?
Have you had experiences that show you can do the job?
Did you work on the school paper or yearbook?
What did you do after school?
What are your skills?
What things did you learn on your own, aside from school?

So basically, who are you? What makes you?

List courses, projects, activities you have completed that are specifically relevant to the job for which you are applying. Also, list any leadership or positions of responsibility you have had e.g. Captain of a sports team, Section Leader in Band, etc. Good luck!

well where did you apply? If they ask for a resume at your age, its either because they’re testing you, or its a tough job, or both. Just remember, keep it to one page. highlight the classes you were good in, your strong extra-curriculars, etc. maximum of 3 bullet points per club/company, etc. Use action words to emphasize what you accomplished (like Built, or Led, or Initiated haha). You have to be able to highlight the relevant skills that you have that would make you worth hiring like hardworking, thinks out of the box, good analytical skills, good leadership skills, etc.
but just get a more hands-on job like waiting on tables, flipping burgers, etc. Working a cash register is a surprisingly GREAT first job for building sales and personal skills (according to KPMG at least haha). dont have to aim so high at a young age. just enter somewhere and succeed from within. thats always impressive. shows drive, ambition, smarts, etc.
